Indigenous’ new encaustics tile range includes nineteen patterns – in a range of traditional and retro, geometric designs – and three base tiles in ivory, charcoal and soft grey. Suitable for walls and floors, the range spans from chic mono-tones and grey mix designs, to vibrant primary shades. Tiles can be used to create a single, continuous patterned scheme or mixed-up for a patchwork effect.
The new encaustic tiles are made by hand, using traditional frames and moulds. A mix including natural marble powder, cement and coloured pigments creates the surface pattern, above a sand and cement backing. Each tile measures 200x200mm and a sealant prefinish creates an easy care surface.
“Encaustic tiles have a timeless appeal that really can be used in any interior design. There are so many different styles, from modern geometrics that have a distinct 70’s vibe, to intricate curlicues, with real old-school charm. When you have a surface finish that can create a Victorian, Moroccan, retro or rustic look, the design possibilities are endless,” explained Indigenous’ Founder, Joss Thomas.
Other new tiles to join Indigenous’ Natural Interiors range for Autumn/Winter include a range of traditional enhanced stone tiles with a fusion of highly finished leather, and a collection of glass enameled tiles inspired by the Venetian technique of Murano glassmaking.
